Agatha FlackSo I had a bit of a scary moment last week on Sheikh Zayed Road where I had to brake hard because someone decided to cut across three lanes without indicating, and honestly my car just didn’t stop as quickly as I expected it to. I wasn’t speeding or driving aggressively, but the brakes felt like they were fading and the pedal was way softer than it used to be, which made me realize that the original pads and rotors on my 2018 Sport are probably overdue for replacement. I’ve been doing some research and I’m thinking this is the perfect time to upgrade to something better than the standard setup, because these cars are so heavy and the stock brakes can feel a bit inadequate when you really need to haul them down from highway speeds. I found out that Elite Land Rover Brake Installation Available through a specialist who uses high-performance pads and drilled rotors that are supposed to handle heat much better and reduce brake fade, which sounds like exactly what I need for the kind of driving we do around Dubai. I’m a bit torn though because I’ve read mixed things about drilled rotors cracking under heavy use, so I’m wondering if I should just stick with high-quality OEM-style solid rotors instead and focus more on getting better pads. I definitely don’t want to compromise on safety or reliability, but at the same time I’d love to have brakes that feel more confident and responsive, especially when I’m carrying the family around. Has anyone here upgraded their Land Rover brakes to something more performance-oriented and noticed a real difference, or should I just keep it simple and go with genuine parts from a trusted specialist?
