How is an RFI processed?

The contractor gives the RFI to the individual mentioned in the contract as the recipient.
The recipient goes over the request to confirm it is valid and clear.
A formal answer is sent to the person who raised the question.
Both the RFI and the answer to the RFI are put in writing to document the project’s status.
Adjustments or explanations are made as indicated by the results of the process.
